Why you need to change your passwords

If it’s anything Sony has taught us, it’s that we can never be too cautious with our online security. Online hacks are being perpetrated everyday but one way to keep the online hackers guessing is to consistently change your passwords. Keep in mind, just about anything you do online requires a password, but getting in the habit of changing your password every 3-6 months will automatically get you an upper hand to internet safety. On average, we own 6 passwords for various websites we go to each day, including email and social media. Most of the major email systems don’t require a password change every so often, but there isn’t anything that says we can’t be proactive to be cognizant of it. […]

Website Wow Factor Leads to Success

You often hear about your website needing a “Wow” factor. It sounds good in principle, but what does it really mean. This factor refers to not only a great looking website, but what it does. When you hire a friend of a friend to do your website, or even a family member, they don’t have “Wow” factor in mind. They are merely showcasing their “skills” in doing something as a favor. A trained, and educated graphic designer has this factor in mind because it does three things – and these three things are perhaps one of the most important anyone could ask for in a website. […]

Google Scam Blog (Revisited) – Update

In August, we talked about being extremely careful when fielding phone calls from people from “Google”. It was common practice for these scammers to go under the guise of Google and give you a shpeel about not ranking high in their search engines and giving them your credit card numbers. This is where the scam gets a little more dangerous – they’re now using Yahoo, Bing, Facebook, and other social media avenues to further their cause. As we become a little more astute to the scammers using Google’s name, their hope is that using a different company will throw you off just enough. Here are some items to put into perspective from 2013: […]
