Google never ceases in leading the technology trend. And the latest news is that Google Maps is now available in the Apple App Store. Hours into its launch, it is now claimed the top spot among iphone apps. The new Google Maps app offers great new features with a clean sleek interface.
New features include:
- Ability to search for destination by typing or speaking.
- You can tell the app if you are driving, walking or taking mass transit.
- Google Maps provides new spoken turn-by-turn directions.
- Quickly view layers such as street view, public transit to satellite.
Google Maps was dismissed from the App Store after iOS6 debuted in September of 2012. Apple decided to replace it with its own Maps app as the default navigation system for its iOS, but Apple’s version was not as highly accepted because of a series of flaws in the software.
